Fence and Roster Duties

To ensure our club can conduct a race day, and conform to required standards, we need all members to volunteer some of their time to spread the subsequent work load.
By completing your fence and roster duties, you are ensuring a smooth race day, a safe environment, and a successful club.
Please ensure you sign-on for each duty, to ensure we get your roster duty bonus points allocated.

Fence Duty Rules

This is an essential duty and is part of our lease agreement to be able to race at Gosford.

  1. A racing class/group will be responsible for erecting and dismantling the fence each meeting as per the club roster
  2. Erecting of fence to commence by 9am Saturday (day before race meeting) or otherwise advised
  3. Duty also includes collection and loading of all associated equipment and barriers
  4. Racing will not commence until the fence is erected satisfactorily
  5. Presentation cannot commence until fence dismantling is complete once racing has ceased
  6. If the race meeting your class/group was nominated for, does not take place (due to weather or other circumstances), your duty day will be transferred to another appropriate date

Roster Rules

Following the success with this Roster in past seasons it has been decided that we will continue with it as a normal part of the race calendar year.
  1. All members are required to assist the club by fulfilling roles required to conduct a race meeting
    - These include flag marshalls, weigh marshall, grid marshall, time keepers, quad riders or other roles as required
  2. You can nominate a person to fulfil your allocated duty / meeting date, as long as they are
    - Over  18 years of age (16 years for quad bike)
    - Be physically able to fulfil the requirements
    - Not already on the roster
    - Prepared to act in a manner conducive with the safety elements of racing
  3. If you are unable to fulfil your required day / duty, it is up to you to work with other members of the club to find a suitable swap / alternative date
  4. Failure to fulfil your required duty / day without sufficient notification and reason, will result in no further racing for that person until the duty has been performed
  5. Members performing their duty on race day will receive a free lunch and drinks as required
  6. A Master Duty Roster will be displayed in the race office. Any changes will only be acknowledged if they are made to this roster and are agreed to by the parties
  7. If the race meeting you were nominated for does not take place (due to weather or other circumstances), your duty day will be transferred to another appropriate date
  8. All members rostered to perform a duty must be at the track no later than 8am race day and must report to the race office to complete all necessary documents. Please remember to wear closed in shoes and to bring a hat
  9. Written description and instructions are available from the Race Office for each job, plus the Clerk of Course will ensure that you are familiar with the requirements for each job at the Officials Briefing prior to the commencement of racing.
