Well our first Come & Try and Practice weekend was a great success, with many new Members and Drivers doing their OLT.
Mandy Coolen from local radio station Star FM also had a run, and proved she would be a great competitor if she ever took up the sport !
She has now put up a challenge to the other DJ's at the station, to have a go and see how they measure up.
Our junior drivers had a great afternoon on practice day, with some Black Flag runs and time-trials held.
Many thanks also to all our new members and volunteers, who helped out through-out the weekend ! Some have traveled long distances to come and play in the dirt !
Please remember that for your licences to stay valid, you must pay your Club Membership ASAP.
Also please make sure that if your licence needs renewing, that it must be done before race day, or online at the AKA website. They can no longer be done on race morning.
The Kidz on Dirt meeting has now been announced and will run as part of the entertainment for the 2010 Gosford Show on Sat 1st May.
This will be a great opportunity to showcase our sport, and entry fees will also include entry to the show for the driver + 1 Pit Crew.
Please hurry and get your entries in by April 12th.
As most of you are aware, transponders and the AKA race timing system will be implemented over the coming months.
This system will be a huge bonus for our Club and competitors alike, with the results also ending up on the internet.
We will be trialing this system shortly, so we will keep you posted.
Thanks to everyone who has helped set the wheels in motion for a great season of racing !
