CCSKC will no longer process Licence Renewals on Race Day morning.
Just a reminder that all current licence holders will have been sent a log in and password to the AKA website that will enable them to process their licence renewals directly through the AKA website.
You can now renew your licence even if expired (up to 5 years), so long as you have received a log in and password (issued through AKA State Office only). The Club Secretary can still process licence renewals as well, but can be done at any time other than race day morning as time doesn't permit for us to them then, however they can be done at any other time during the day.
Licence renewals can only be done for existing Club Members as the computer system doesn't permit Clubs to access information for members of other Clubs without State Office intervention. Therefore they can't be done on race weekends.
All
drivers must have a current AKA licence in order to compete at any event.
They must also be a current Member of any AKA Karting Club.
You
will be required to become a Member of CCSKC for us to process any licences.
As
per Rule 13.04.2 "A person applying for the issue of a new licence,
or renewal of an existing licence must be a member of an affiliated Club
and must remain a financial member of an AKA club during that period of
the licence."
Your
licence must be produced when entering any events, for validation, and
again at Scrutineering for sign-off.
To
be eligible for licence upgrade endorsements, you must nominate while submitting your race entry.
Endorsements
are issued based on satisfactory performance throughout the race meeting.
Endorsements are not issued based on attendance.

Licence
Renewals REMINDER
All
competition licences are valid for a twelve month period from date of issue,
unless previously surrendered or withdrawn. All licence renewals will be
from the anniversary date of a licence. Licences will expire after thirty
days from the anniversary date of the licence, when this occurs then the
licence renewal becomes a new renewal and the new licence fee applies.
The new renewal licence date will commence when applied for and will be
due for renewal on that date the following year. All licence grades remain
the same. As per Rule 13.09 of the AKA Karting Manual.
However,
if a karter renews their licence after the 30 day period and is prepared
to have their new licence backdated to the expiry date of their previous
licence, then the normal renewal fee applies.
Photo's
You
are now required to provide ONE (1) electronic (computer file) passport size photo when applying
for a new licence. The
AKA are now only issuing a Plastic Card Licence when you apply for a new licence, they are no longer issuing drivers with a Log Book. Licence renewals will continue to use the same Plastic Card Licence, as they will not be re-issued. Replacement cards for damaged or lost cards can be issued at a cost of $35.
Upgrading
of Licences
All
licences have to be upgraded by the State Office.
Grade D
Provisional Drivers |
Remember
to hand your licence in at Scrutineering to be observed for your licence
endorsement to obtain a full C Grade licence. Once you have obtained
your signatures (& done a flag day for seniors) you need to send
your whole licence, including your pink slip if it has endorsements
on it to the AKA for upgrading.
You will still be required to compete as
a Provisional driver, even if you have fulfilled all the necessary
race meetings until such time as you have submitted your licence
to the AKA for upgrading. |
| Upgrade from C to B grade |
Remember to hand your licence in at Scrutineering
to obtain the 10 signatures required for this upgrade. Once you have
the signatures required (preferably over three venues), you need to
send the whole licence, including the pink slip if it has any endorsements
on it to the AKA requesting an upgrade.
Dispensation on the 3 venues may be granted for dirt and speedway
karters. |
| Age Related Class Upgrades |
For all Midget,
Rookie and Junior competitors, if you are moving up in an age related
class you MUST have your licence upgraded to reflect that
new class PRIOR to taking part in any competition.
For example: Your licence states Midgets but you are ready
to move to Rookies - you must have your licence upgraded by the State
Office to say Rookies prior to racing in Rookies. |
Single Event Licences
- Drivers whom have not held an AKA race license previously are required to do an OLT & STL.
They will be issued with a “D Grade Provisional” single event license. To achieve full license
accreditation (Full C Grade) they will have to comply with rule 13.18.4 (a) (i), (ii) and (iii). If
the applicant has within the past three years held a full race license their previous grading will
be granted for their single event license and the 3 year time limit recommences. (Rule 13.05
applies)
- The validity of the Single event license shall be from midnight of the last day of the race
permit, for 8 days prior. This will allow for familiarity time in the kart and unofficial practice.
- Not valid for State or National Championships
- Fee: $82.00.
- A person applying for a Single Event Licence must apply to their relevant state Secretary via
the electronic AKA Licence System.
- Persons aged 60 years and over must supply with their licence application a copy of a current
motor sport medical certificate. Certificate must refer to an examination undertaken within the
previous 3 months.
- The State Secretary/Licensing Officer, if satisfied that the particulars stated in the electronic
application are correct and satisfy the requirement, will issue a Single Event Licence.
